Tashkent will host a regular meeting of the heads of ministries and agencies of physical culture and sports of the SCO member states

TASHKENT, May 19. /“Dunyo” IA/. On May 19-21, Tashkent will host a regular meeting of the heads of ministries and agencies of physical culture and sports of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

In the process of large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan, physical culture and sports, like all other spheres, are developing based on the new principles. The implementation of promising projects, the use of untapped opportunities in this direction are among the main tasks. The main attention is paid to the concept of international relations in sports to a new level, attracting foreign teams to cooperate, organizing joint competitions and training camps.

Within the framework of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship in the SCO in 2021-2022, cooperation is expanding, new initiatives are being implemented. The guests will visit the National Olympic Committee, get acquainted with changes taking place in Tashkent region in physical culture and sports, sports complexes being built and cultural facilities. They will discuss the development of cooperation and organization of sports competitions, joint implementation of promising projects. Views will be exchanged on promoting a healthy lifestyle among the population, attracting young people to sports.

The participants will agree on an Action Plan for cooperation in physical culture and sports for 2022-2024. The heads of the sports sector will discuss issues of stimulating athletes and developing the Olympic Movement.
