The Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Serbia signed a Protocol on cooperation and inter-ministerial consultations in New York

TASHKENT, September 20. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Nikola Selaković, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.


According to Uzbekistan MFA, the parties discussed issues of increasing bilateral cooperation in politics, trade, investment, education, as well as the development of cultural-humanitarian dialogue.

It was proposed to take joint measures to expand the range of goods, create and hold a meeting of the Uzbekistan – Serbia Intergovernmental Commission, implement investment projects in agriculture, chemical industry and energy to effectively realize the significant trade-economic potential of Uzbekistan and Serbia.

An agreement was reached to work out the issues of signing several bilateral agreements on the protection and promotion of investments, attracting labor resources, cooperation in agriculture, certification, as well as interaction in science and technology.

The possibilities of participation of Serbian investors in the implementation of projects for the construction of new and reconstruction of the existing tourism infrastructure in Uzbekistan were considered.

The parties expressed interest in developing contacts between higher education institutions and research institutes, cultural and health institutions.

Following the meeting, a protocol on cooperation and consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Serbia was signed, which regulates the conduct of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
