TASHKENT, February 16. /“Dunyo” IA/. Today, a meeting was held with Mr. Nodir Khudayberganov, the Representative of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia in the Republic of Uzbekistan at the International Institute for Central Asia, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
Mr.Anvar Nasirov, IICA’s Director informed the guest in detail about the main tasks and activities of the International Institute for Central Asia, established on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It was especially emphasized that the main priority of Uzbekistan's foreign policy is to strengthen friendly and constructive relations with the Central Asian states, to ensure peace and stability in the region.
The UNRCCA Representative was informed about the forthcoming International Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities”, its goals and objectives.
Mr.Khudayberganov noted that the goals of IICA are consonant with the main directions of UNRCCA activities, and the interaction of the two structures will contribute to solving common problems.
The parties expressed their readiness to establish practical cooperation between IICA and UNRCCA, to hold joint events that meet the common interests of all countries in the region.
