The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan accepted copies of the credentials of the new U.S. Ambassador

TASHKENT, November 16. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Norov received the newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.


According to the Uzbekistan MFA, the Ambassador presented copies of credentials to the Minister. Vladimir Norov congratulated the Ambassador on taking office and wished him success in his professional activities.

The parties considered the progress of the implementation of previously reached agreements, and the schedule of the upcoming events at the bilateral level and in the C5+1 format. The necessary opportunities for building up trade and investment ties, including by attracting American capital and technology to Uzbekistan's economy, creating joint ventures in the textile industry, pharmaceuticals, energy, ICT, and strengthening financial cooperation were noted. The parties also exchanged views on the Afghanistan situation, noting the need for expanding international assistance to this country.
