The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan attends the meeting of the ECO Council of Foreign Ministers

TASHKENT, November 29. /“Dunyo” IA/. On November 27, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov took part in the 25th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization, in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.


According to Uzbekistan MFA, the participants of the meeting exchanged views on the current issues and prospects for further development of regional economic cooperation, considered the report of the ECO Secretary General.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan focused the attention of the participants on the need for fully implementing the initiatives and proposals put forward by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during the 14th Virtual Summit of the Heads of State of the ECO Member States.

The heads of delegations and the ECO Secretary General congratulated Uzbekistan on assuming the chairmanship of the organization in 2022. They confirmed their full support and expressed confidence that during the presidency of Uzbekistan, regional cooperation will further strengthen and the role of ECO in the international arena will increase.

On November 28, Ashgabat hosted the 15th Summit of the Heads of State of ECO Member States. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the Summit.

The Economic Cooperation Organization was founded in 1992. Its members are Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
