TASHKENT, September 16. /“Dunyo” IA/. On September 16-17, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in the events of the anniversary summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which will be held in the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan – the city of Dushanbe, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to the press service of the head of our state, the summit, chaired by the Tajik side, envisages the participation of the leaders of the SCO member states – the Republic of India, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People’s Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Russian Federation.
The SCO observer states will be represented by the presidents of the Republic of Belarus, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Mongolia. The President of Turkmenistan is invited as an honored guest of the meeting.
The event will also be attended by the heads of the executive bodies of the SCO and other international institutions.
In accordance with the agenda, the participants will consider the main results of the SCO's activities over the past 20 years, and discuss the urgent tasks of multilateral interaction. Views will be exchanged on global politics and the regional agenda.
It is envisaged that following the summit the Dushanbe Declaration will be adopted, decisions of the heads of state and other multilateral documents on expanding multifaceted cooperation within the SCO will be signed. An important event will be the transfer of the chairmanship in the SCO to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In addition, the program of the President of Uzbekistan includes several bilateral negotiations with the heads of the partner states, as well as participation in a meeting in the SCO-CSTO format on the situation in Afghanistan.
