UHI and Tourism Development Committee agree on cooperation in training in-demand personnel for the tourism sector


LONDON, February 22. /“Dunyo” IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in London organized virtual talks between the leadership of the University of Highlands and Islands (UHI) and the State Committee for Tourism Development of Uzbekistan, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

During the talks, it was emphasized that today the tourism sector in Uzbekistan is defined as a key sector and one of the locomotives of the development of the national economy. In this regard, there is a need to increase attention to training highly qualified personnel in this area, including the establishment of partnerships with foreign universities.

The British side noted that UHI specializes in training in-demand personnel for the tourism sector and offers bachelor's, master's, doctoral and postgraduate degrees in 200 educational programs.

The parties indicated their readiness to establish cooperation in the implementation of double diploma programs and mutual recognition of diplomas, the organization of special courses in the study of the English language, student exchange, research cooperation, in particular the assignment of UHI experts to Uzbek doctoral students as scientific advisers in areas such as adventure tourism, digital marketing and tourism, project development and management, educational tourism, guide activities and tourism management.

Following the talks, the UHI and the International University of Tourism in Samarkand reached an agreement to develop and conclude a Memorandum of Cooperation.
