Uzbekistan-Malaysia Business Forum in Kuala-Lumpur


KUALA-LUMPUR, October 19. /“Dunyo” IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan hosted a business forum with the participation of representatives of the Malaysian business community, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The Malaysian side was informed about the favorable business conditions created in Uzbekistan, the large-scale economic reforms carried out to improve the business environment, the activities of free economic zones (FEZ), export potential, including measures taken in the country to promote domestic products in foreign markets, by identifying new international transport corridors, as well as upcoming major events in Uzbekistan.

Participants highly appreciated the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan to liberalize the economy and improve the business climate in the country and expressed great interest in further strengthening cooperation, in particular by considering the possibility of implementing joint investment projects and organizing export deliveries of Uzbekistan products to Malaysia.

Following the event, agreements were reached on organizing a visit of representatives of the Malaysian business community to Uzbekistan in March 2022 to hold a joint Uzbekistan – Malaysia business forum in Khorezm region and the city of Tashkent, visiting manufacturing enterprises of Uzbekistan, including in the FEZ, to become acquainted with the industrial potential of the country and identify specific areas of cooperation, establishing partnerships, conducting substantive negotiations with Uzbekistan exporters to conclude contracts for the supply of Uzbekistan products to the Malaysian market.
