Uzbekistan establishes diplomatic relations with Saint Vincent and Grenadines

TASHKENT, May 12. /“Dunyo” IA/. On May 10, in New York, the permanent representatives of the two countries to the UN signed a joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations with Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, a state in the southern part of the Caribbean, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.


The parties confirmed their interest in strengthening joint work within the framework of international organizations, including the UN and its specialized agencies. An agreement was reached to maintain regular contact on topical issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda.

Following the signing ceremony of the joint communique, the Permanent Representative of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the UN, Ms. Inga Rhonda King, shared her assessments of the modern development of Uzbekistan.

Today is a special day for my little country, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. We signed a joint communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations with Uzbekistan. This is a historic event. Our countries are geographically far apart, have different cultures and religions, but they are connected by the now established diplomatic ties, which symbolize the true spirit of the United Nations,” said Inga Rhonda King.

It was noted that the government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines admires the large-scale work carried out by Uzbekistan in all areas and is proud to be friends and partners that have been formalized today.

“We will work closely together for a better world and a brighter future. Once again, I sincerely congratulate everyone on this significant event,” concluded the Permanent Representative of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the UN.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is a state of the British Commonwealth. The country actively participates in the activities of the UN, in 2020-2021 it was a non-permanent member of the Security Council, and in 2018-2019 it was the chairman of the Economic and Social Council of the organization (ECOSOC).

On March 9, 2022, our country established diplomatic relations with the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
