Uzbekistan, Israel archives establish cooperation


TEL AVIV, August 13. /“Dunyo” IA/. Uzarchive Agency and the Central Archive for the History of the Jewish People signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the archival work, via videoconference, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Israel Feruza Makhmudova, the Ambassador of Israel to Uzbekistan Zehavit Ben-Hillel, representatives of Uzbekistan – Israel Friendship Society, as well as Israeli research circles.

The document provides a basis for studying archival funds, including open archival documents related to the history and culture of the Uzbek and Jewish peoples. The parties will carry out joint research projects on the history of the peoples of Central Asia, the history of the Jewish diaspora in Uzbekistan, the history of Uzbeks who immigrated to Israel, and other topics of mutual interest. Conditions are being created for cooperation in the publication of archival documents and the organization of joint documentary exhibitions, workshops and conferences, as well as for the training and advanced training of specialists in the field of archival affairs.
