Uzbekistan, Latvia strengthen cooperation in education


RIGA, November 25. /“Dunyo” IA/. A delegation of Latvian educational circles is on a working visit to Uzbekistan from 22 to 25 November, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

During the visit, talks were held with the First Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan Komil Karimov, the Rector of the Karakalpak State University Ahmed Reimov, the Hokim of Fergana region Khayrulla Bazarov.

The parties discussed practical measures to further develop educational cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia, expand the coverage of the network of bilateral inter-university partnerships, as well as jointly introduce advanced international practices in the field of student mobility.

One of the results of the visit will be the beginning of a joint study of the issue of creating ISIC Uzbekistan in Fergana – the first ISIC Representative Office in Central Asia.
