TASHKENT, March 4. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov has met with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
According to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the parties discussed the current and promising projects in the energy, agricultural and infrastructure sectors, as well as the prospects for enhancing investment cooperation.
Significant progress was noted in the implementation of projects in the energy sector, in particular, projects in alternative energy implemented by Masdar, as well as the project for the privatization and expansion of Talimarjan TPP by Mubadala and Taka.
The activities of joint Uzbekistan – UAE Investment Company, which are considering 17 promising investment projects worth about $400 million in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, logistics, tourism, agriculture and the food industry, were considered.
The current status of infrastructure and social projects implemented jointly with the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development was discussed.
The Uzbek side expressed special gratitude for the financial and technical assistance provided by the UAE side in the construction of medical institutions and a new building of the State Archives of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
