Cairo hosts Uzbekistan – Egypt political consultations

TASHKENT, May 26. /“Dunyo” IA/. Yesterday, Cairo hosted the 10th round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Egypt, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.


The delegations were led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov and Assistant Foreign Minister of Egypt for Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands Ayman Kamel.

The parties exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Egypt, confirming that the two countries have broad opportunities for further intensification of cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment, tourism and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

It was noted that the high-level talks held on September 4-5, 2018 in Tashkent and February 5, 2022, in Beijing between Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Abdel Fattah El-Sisi raised bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level and content.

The parties focused on such issues as supporting direct contact between businesspeople of the two countries, increasing the mutual flow of tourists, expanding ties in such priority areas as education, religion, innovation, healthcare, security and military-technical cooperation, and a joint study of the heritage of our great scientists, promotion of joint projects in museum affairs and archaeological monuments.

The sides also exchanged views on cooperation within the framework of international organizations, as well as current regional issues.
