Latvia’s Riga celebrates the 30th Anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence


RIGA, September 14. /“Dunyo” IA/. Riga hosted an official reception dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the state independence of Uzbekistan, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The event was attended by representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Saeima, the Cabinet of Ministers, heads and high-ranking officials of relevant ministries, university rectors, mayors, businesspeople of Latvia, ambassadors and diplomats of foreign states, as well as compatriots.

Ambassador Kadambay Sultanov noted the achievements of the country over the years of independence, spoke about large-scale reforms and the modernization process of the country carried out in recent years, dwelled on the current state and prospects of development of Uzbekistan – Latvia relations.

The guests highly rated the achievements of Uzbekistan over the years of independence. It was emphasized that in a short period under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, large-scale activity has been carried out to build a new state and society. The pragmatic, balanced and far-sighted nature of the state’s foreign policy was emphasized, due to which in recent years, there has been a steady increase in Uzbekistan’s prestige in the international arena and its influence on the global agenda.
