Muscat hosts Uzbekistan – Oman Political Consultations

MUSCAT, September 22. /“Dunyo” IA/. Muscat hosted the seventh round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Oman, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the delegations of the parties were led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov and, Oman’s Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy.

The parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects for cooperation in politics, regional and international problems. An agreement was reached on the development of cooperation within the framework of international and regional structures, in particular, the UN and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The issue of strengthening the legal framework for cooperation was considered.

The main issue of the talks was the assessment of the current state of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and the definition of its prospects. The parties also spoke about measures to increase the volume of trade and accelerate investment ties, and radically diversify the content of partner areas.
