SEOUL, July 22. /“Dunyo” IA/. Seoul hosted a roundtable discussion on “Constitutional reforms in Uzbekistan” as part of Uzbekistan delegation’s visit to South Korea led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
The delegation includes representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
The event was attended by members of the South Korean parliament, representatives of political, public, scientific and expert-analytical circles, rectors and researchers of leading universities in Korea, heads of provinces and large cities, journalists.
The main purpose of the event was to familiarize the South Korean public with the content and significance of constitutional reforms in Uzbekistan and exchange views on this issue.
The delegation members made reports on the constitutional reform being carried out in the country, in particular on the proposed amendments and additions to the Basic Law concerning human rights, youth, building a social state, and exchanged views with the South Korean side on these aspects.
Representatives of the political and expert circles of South Korea spoke about the international constitutional experience and highly appreciated the efforts of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to ensure peace and progressive development in Uzbekistan and Central Asia as a whole.
The participants supported the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan and expressed their opinion on this issue.
