Citizens of Uzbekistan Stranded in Difficult Circumstances in Russia’s Far East Receive Assistance in Returning Home

VLADIVOSTOK, November 1. /Dunyo IA/. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in the Far Eastern Federal District of Russia is systematically working to protect the rights and interests of Uzbek citizens, provide quality consular and legal services, and offer practical assistance in addressing challenges they face during labour migration, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

With financial support from the Migration Agency Fund, Uzbek citizens who found themselves in difficult financial circumstances while working temporarily in Vladivostok and Khabarovsk have been assisted in returning to their homeland. Among them were citizens originally from the Samarkand and Surkhandarya regions.

In particular, assistance was provided to a woman from the Samarkand region who was staying in Khabarovsk with her four minor children. Due to her irregular immigration status, she was detained by local law enforcement authorities. Following a court ruling, she was subject to deportation from Russia and was placed in a temporary detention centre for foreign nationals pending her departure.
