Uzbekistan and Sweden join efforts to enhance cooperation in healthcare and pharmaceuticals

TASHKENT, June 8. /Dunyo IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Sweden, in cooperation with the Swedish Trade and Investment Council (Business Sweden), organized a roundtable in Tashkent titled "Uzbekistan–Sweden: Exchange of Best Practices in Oncology Management", reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was held in a hybrid format as part of the 4th International Pharmaceutical Forum of Uzbekistan. It brought together leading experts and specialists from both countries, including representatives of the Karolinska Institute, the Swedish Medical Products Agency, companies such as "AstraZeneca", "Vision Zero Cancer", and others, as well as senior officials from the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, the "Uzpharmsanoat" Association, and other relevant institutions.

Opening remarks were delivered by the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Asilbek Khudoyarov, the ambassadors of both countries, and representatives from the Republican Oncology Center, Business Sweden, and other professional organizations.

The event featured presentations on the healthcare and pharmaceutical systems of both countries, highlighting existing opportunities for industry development. Discussions focused on prospects for bilateral cooperation in oncology and pharmaceuticals, including the development of new projects, knowledge exchange, and joint research initiatives.

Particular attention was given to early diagnosis, the introduction of innovative treatment methods, the development of screening systems, and improving the quality of oncological care.

The roundtable discussion served as an important step toward strengthening bilateral cooperation and enhancing the quality of oncology care for patients in both Uzbekistan and Sweden.
