ASHGABAT, September 6. /Dunyo IA/.   A festive event was held in the capital of Turkmenistan to mark the 35^th Anniversary of the State Independence of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan with the facilitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and Ashgabat City Administration.

The solemn ceremony was attended by representatives of the Government of Turkmenistan, the Apparatus of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of state bodies, chiefs of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations accredited in Ashgabat, as well as members of the Turkmen business and academic communities, public figures and media representatives.

On behalf of the Government of Turkmenistan Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, attended the event as the chief guest.

In his address, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshandek Alimov, highlighted the comprehensive reforms being implemented under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev within the framework of the “New Uzbekistan” strategy, as well as the substantial outcomes of these transformations in ensuring macroeconomic stability.

In particular, the Ambassador shed light on Uzbekistan’s achievements in “green” energy, the innovation economy and tourism, alongside the country’s consistent foreign policy course anchored in the principles of openness, good-neighborliness, and constructive dialogue.

Ambassador emphasized that, owing to the profound political will of the leaders of the two states and deep-rooted fraternal ties, the Uzbek-Turkmen relations of strategic partnership have reached a qualitatively new, elevated level today.

In his address, Hojamyrat Geldimyradov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, dwelt specifically on the historical and political bonds between the two nations.

“Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are bound by centuries-old historical, cultural, and spiritual ties. Our peoples are united by good-neighbourliness, mutual respect, shared traditions and a common aspiration to further develop friendly and mutually beneficial relations. Today, Turkmen-Uzbek relations are characterized by a high level of mutual trust, good-neighbourliness, and constructive cooperation. Regular meetings and negotiations between the leaders of the two states play a pivotal role in further strengthening this multifaceted interaction”, he noted.

Within the framework of the solemn reception, exhibitions were organized highlighting Uzbekistan’s socio-economic development over the past decade, its robust export and tourism potential, as well as its national culture and traditional handicrafts.

A concert performance by prominent Turkmen cultural and art masters lent a distinct festive ambiance and elevated spirit to the event, much to the delight of the guests.

The high-level event vividly demonstrated the elevated stature of the Uzbek-Turkmen strategic partnership, alongside the steadfast determination of both parties to further deepen their multifaceted cooperation.
