Compatriots in Germany’s Gera Celebrate the 35th Anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence

• 99GERA, September 13. /Dunyo IA/. A festive event dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s state independence was held in the German city of Gera, bringing together around 200 Uzbek compatriots, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany together with the “Anor” association for compatriots living, working and studying in different regions of Germany.
Diplomats congratulated participants on the national holiday and highlighted reforms underway in Uzbekistan, the development of education and healthcare, new opportunities for young people, and economic modernization.
Particular attention was paid to this year’s celebrations being held under the motto “One Motherland, One People – Creating a New Life and Future,” aimed at strengthening a sense of connection to the country and ties between younger generations and national values.
The cultural program featured an exhibition of works by Uzbek artist Jura Asran, national games, performances of Uzbek songs and dances, and presentations of national traditions and cuisine.
Participants also discussed ways to strengthen ties among the Uzbek community in Germany and engage young people in preserving Uzbek culture, language and traditions.
