-  It is a great honour for me, on behalf of Samsung and on my own behalf, to congratulate the people of Uzbekistan on this remarkable and significant milestone - the 35^th anniversary of the state independence of Uzbekistan!

Over the years of independence, Uzbekistan has undergone a significant path of transformation, establishing a solid foundation for sustainable economic development, expanding international cooperation and attracting advanced technologies and investments. Today, we can say with confidence that Uzbekistan is becoming an increasingly open, dynamic and attractive country for international business.

In 2017, “Samsung” became one of the first international corporations to open its representative office and initiate direct investments in the economy of Uzbekistan. Since then, our cooperation has been consistently expanding and alongside it, our contribution to the development of the Uzbek economy continues to grow.

Over this period, the company has created more than 1,000 jobs, invested over 2 million dollars, and made a substantial contribution to the country's budget. In the last year alone, the volume of taxes paid by “Samsung” exceeded 50 million dollars, reflecting our long-term commitment to the Uzbek market.

Development of local production holds particular importance for us. A joint venture has been established in Uzbekistan to manufacture modern and accessible “Samsung” products, tailored primarily to the needs of Uzbek consumers. Concurrently, the products manufactured in the country gain the opportunity to enter the markets of other CIS nations, opening additional prospects for the further development of industrial cooperation and the expansion of Uzbekistan’s export potential.

We highly appreciate the fact that these results have been made possible thanks to consistent economic reforms aimed at creating favourable conditions for entrepreneurship and foreign investment.

I would specifically like to note the support and attention of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The reforms implemented under his leadership, directed at increasing the openness of the economy, developing competition, introducing innovation and ensuring the transparency of the investment environment, create new opportunities for international companies and strengthen foreign investors' confidence in Uzbekistan.

For “Samsung”, investment is not limited to financial capital. We are convinced that a genuine contribution to the country's future also lies in the development of human capital, supporting education, empowering the youth and implementing socially significant projects.

That is precisely why “Samsung Electronics Uzbekistan” intends to further expand its participation in corporate social initiatives aimed at supporting education, developing digital skills, unlocking the potential of the younger generation and improving the quality of people's lives.

We are confident that the South Korean-Uzbek economic partnership holds immense potential.
