TASHKENT, August 12. /Dunyo IA/. The bodies of eight Uzbek citizens who died in a drone attack on facilities in Nizhnekamsk, Republic of Tatarstan, have been brought to Uzbekistan on a special flight, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

“As part of the work of the Government Commission established on the instructions of the President of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Migration Agency and other relevant authorities have taken the necessary measures to repatriate the bodies of those died, provide assistance to the injured and support their families,” the spokesperson for the MFA of Uzbekistan wrote on his Telegram-channel.

The attack involving unmanned aerial vehicles took place on August 10, targeting a number of facilities in Tatarstan. Eight Uzbek citizens working at a construction site died, while several others were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.

To provide the necessary assistance to compatriots, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia Botirjon Asadov and Consul General in Kazan Nodirjon Kasimov immediately traveled to the scene and held meetings with local officials. As a result, the bodies of the deceased Uzbek citizens were transported to Uzbekistan on a special flight on August 12.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Russian side, has taken under control all issues related to the situation, including providing the necessary assistance to the injured citizens,” the ministry’s spokesperson said.
