BERLIN, October 12. /Dunyo IA/. In January-September 2026, the number of tourists visiting Uzbekistan from Germany increased by 25 percent compared to the same period last year, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Germany remains one of the key European tourism markets for Uzbekistan. During the nine months of this year, approximately 43,000 German tourists visited the country. This figure indicates a growing interest among German citizens in the tourism opportunities of Uzbekistan.
Overall, in January-September 2026, the total number of foreign tourists visiting Uzbekistan reached 10.3 million people, representing a 20.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year. In September alone, the country welcomed 1.2 million foreign tourists.
Among European nations, alongside Germany, the growth rate of the tourist inflow from the United Kingdom also stood at 25 percent, while France recorded a 21 percent increase and Türkiye registered a 15 percent rise. Furthermore, the number of tourist arrivals from China increased 2.1 times, Malaysia 1.9 times, Japan 1.5 times and the United States 1.4 times.
The rising number of international tourists is concurrently reflected in the economic indicators of the tourism industry. Specifically, during the nine months of the current year, the export of tourism services reached 5.3 billion US dollars, marking a 51.2 percent increase compared to 2025.
This positive dynamics demonstrates the strengthening of Uzbekistan's position in the international tourism market. In particular, the steady growth in the number of tourists from Germany opens up new prospects for the further expansion of tourism ties between the two countries, the development of practical cooperation with German tour operators, and the active promotion of Uzbekistan's rich historical and cultural heritage, as well as its tourism potential, in the German market.
