TASHKENT, April 3. /Dunyo IA/. From March 24 to 27, Uzbekistan hosted the filming of one of the world’s most famous and popular tourist reality shows, "The Amazing Race", reports the correspondent of Dunyo IA.
The show is one of the longest-running and most beloved by viewers worldwide. Since its debut in 2001, it has produced 418 episodes and has won over 20 prestigious American Emmy Award — the most prestigious television awards worldwide. Each episode is watched by an average of 10 million viewers globally.
During the show, ten teams compete against each other, taking part in various challenges related to the culture and history of the country being visited. Over the years, the show has visited more than 95 countries, and this year, it made its debut in Uzbekistan. According to the UN World Tourism Organization, "The Amazing Race" has inspired approximately 320 million people to travel around the world.
The initiative for filming came from the American television company "Next Field International LLC" with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan. The producers of the show were interested in the historical landmarks and culture of Uzbekistan, and the filming of three episodes took place in the city of Samarkand and the tourist village of Tersak in the Urgut district of Samarkand region.
Filming took place at historical sites in Samarkand, in neighborhoods, markets, and on the streets of the city. Participants were introduced to the tradition of making sumalak, local vegetables and fruits, dishes of national cuisine, the "Lazgi" dance, and took part in performances of traditional melodies on the doira and karnay, as well as other challenges.
The show featured teams made up of some of the most popular celebrities from the entertainment and sports industries of Australia and New Zealand. To produce the television program, a crew of about 120 people arrived in Uzbekistan. The filmed episodes will be broadcast on the Australian television channel "Network 10" this year, with an audience of 8 million viewers.
At the end of the filming, representatives from "Next Field International LLC" expressed deep satisfaction with their work in Uzbekistan and conveyed their desire to continue filming popular TV programs, reality shows, and other productions, aimed at promoting Uzbekistan and popularizing its tourism and cultural potential to a global audience.
