RIGA, December 12. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation of executives from major textile enterprises of the Andijan region visited Latvia and Lithuania to explore opportunities for expanding exports of Uzbek textile products to the Baltic markets, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Embassy of Uzbekistan in Riga organized a business forum, bilateral meetings and B2B negotiations between entrepreneurs, as well as visits to major textile manufacturing facilities in Latvia.

Representatives of Latvian businesses expressed strong interest in the textile products of the Andijan region. Discussions focused on optimizing logistics routes, ensuring stable supplies, and placing Uzbek products on leading Baltic marketplaces. Participants were provided with detailed presentations and catalogs of the region’s textile enterprises.

The delegation also visited the port cities of Liepaja (Latvia) and Klaipeda (Lithuania) to explore warehouse solutions to ensure timely delivery of Uzbek textile products to Western and Northern Europe and maintain seamless logistics. The establishment of these warehouses was considered a strategic step to increase the competitiveness of Uzbek exports and expand their geographic reach.

As a result of the visit, four specialized showrooms for Uzbek textile products were opened in central Riga and one in Vilnius. Export contracts exceeding USD 10 million were signed, and practical steps were initiated to begin shipments to Latvia.

The delegation also met with the management of the Latvian company “TerraBalt”. According to company director, Āris Ozoliņš, European markets are increasingly interested in expanding shipments of Uzbek products, including textiles, as evidenced by the growing transit of Uzbek goods through the Baltic states. The company expressed interest in joint investment projects in transport and logistics, and an agreement was reached for a delegation to visit Uzbekistan in January 2026 for further negotiations.
