MFA Reviews Labor Rights Issues of Uzbek Citizens in Russia

TASHKENT, January 27. /Dunyo IA/. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullayev yesterday met with the Ambassador of Russia Aleksei Erkhov, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, the sides discussed in detail the current issues concerning the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of Uzbekistan who are working in Russia.

The discussion was attended by the Consuls General of Uzbekistan in various regions of Russia, which allowed the issues to be examined in depth, taking into account the practical experience of working on the ground. The Russian side was represented by the leadership of the Consular department of the diplomatic mission, responsible staff for migration issues, as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies.

The Uzbek side particularly emphasized the fundamental importance of preventing any form of infringement on the rights and human dignity of citizens of Uzbekistan, including both law-abiding individuals and those who have violated migration laws, during migration inspections and raids.

The meeting confirmed the commitment of both sides to develop a pragmatic and mutually respectful dialogue aimed at regulating migration processes and creating favourable conditions for the lawful employment of citizens of Uzbekistan in Russia.

Both sides agreed on the necessity of regular consular consultations and bilateral meetings to continuously improve practical cooperation and strengthen collaboration.
