Sanjar Valiev: Upcoming summits of Heads of State of Central Asia, Russia and CIS in Dushanbe – key milestones for strengthening multilateral cooperation

TASHKENT, October 2. /Dunyo IA/. At the recently held Uzbek-Russian "roundtable" in Tashkent, Sanjar Valiev, Director of the Center for Foreign Policy Studies and International Initiatives under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan (CFPSII), delivered a keynote address, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the "roundtable", the expert outlined key areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia within the framework of international and regional organizations.

Particular attention was given to the upcoming Summit of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Russia, to be held in Dushanbe, as well as the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State. These events were identified as key milestones in advancing multilateral cooperation.

Key highlights of the statement:

Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was highlighted as a crucial regulatory and legal framework and a source of intersectoral cooperation standards;

Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was noted for its significant potential. Uzbekistan’s participation as an active observer enables a deeper understanding of ongoing integration processes within the Union;

The continued development of the "Central Asia–Russia" format was supported as one of the most practical platforms for implementing large-scale infrastructure projects of regional importance, as well as fostering cooperation in emerging technologies of the future;

The importance of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was underscored as a platform for preserving stability and promoting multilateral cooperation across the vast expanse of the Eurasian continent.
