PETROPAВLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, November 3. /Dunyo IA/. Consul General of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok Khajiakbar Vakhabov, visited the Kamchatka Krai of Russia and held a series of meetings with compatriots, employers and representatives of the regional authorities, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

At the meeting with active compatriots residing in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, issues concerning citizen support, the promotion of the Uzbek language and culture, and the organization of cultural and educational events were discussed. A joint work plan for 2026–2027 was approved, including preventive measures to preclude offenses among citizens. The participants received answers to their questions of interest.

Consular officials also met with citizens of Uzbekistan employed at “Shamsa-Holding”, “Region Stroy Plus”, “Russky Dvor” and other companies, as well as with the management of these enterprises. Working conditions, housing, catering facilities and the timeliness of wage payments were reviewed. Vacancies and the demand for specialists were discussed with employers and an agreement was reached on the organized recruitment of citizens of Uzbekistan for employment.

Staff of the Consulate General visited the “Plaza” food market, where they examined the availability of and demand for Uzbek products (dried and fresh fruits, melons, textiles, electrical appliances). They also toured the “Tymlatsky” Fish Processing Plant of “Salmonica” company, which produces “Omega-3” dietary supplements from Kamchatka salmon. Preliminary negotiations were held on the distribution and sale of these products in Uzbekistan.

A meeting was held with the Head of the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Kamchatka Krai and Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Evgeny Vereshchaga, during which the protection of the rights of citizens of Uzbekistan, consular services and trade and economic cooperation were discussed, resulting in agreements.

During the meeting with the Chairperson of the Government of Kamchatka Krai Yulia Morozova, discussions focused on the initiative to establish direct flights between the region and cities of Uzbekistan, the development of a comprehensive “roadmap” for cooperation in trade, economy, the humanitarian sphere, tourism, and migration for 2027–2028, as well as the exchange of data on vacancies for the organized recruitment of citizens of Uzbekistan.
