The new Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents a copy of his credentials to Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar

DOHA, February 20. /"Dunyo" IA/. Today, the newly appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Ashraf Khodjayev, presented a copy of his credentials to Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi.

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs extended his congratulations to Ambassador Ashraf Khodjayev on his appointment to this esteemed position and conveyed his best wishes for success in his diplomatic endeavors.

During their discussions, both parties engaged in an exchange of views on a wide array of topics concerning bilateral cooperation across various sectors. Additionally, they discussed collaboration within the framework of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf – Central Asia.

The significant strides in Uzbekistan-Qatar relations following the state visits of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to Uzbekistan in June and the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to Doha in October last year were highlighted.

There was a shared commitment to further enhancing economic ties, bolstering trade volumes, and fostering cooperation in joint investment initiatives.

Both parties agreed to intensify mutual engagements across different levels, including organizing visits and events throughout the year.

It’s worth noting that Ambassador Ashraf Khodjayev assumed his duties in Doha on February 11. Prior to his ambassadorial role, he served as the Director of the Department of Economic Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ambassador Ashraf Khodjayev is the inaugural ambassador of Uzbekistan to Qatar with residence in Doha.
