BERLIN, October 16. /Dunyo IA/.  Embassy of Uzbekistan hosted an event dedicated to strengthening Uzbek-German cooperation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by a delegation of Uzbekistan led by Sodiq Safoev, the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, alongside representatives of the Bundestag, German government authorities, public circles and compatriots.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov highlighted the country’s achievements in strengthening statehood, modernizing the economy, and expanding international relations. He emphasized that Germany remains one of Uzbekistan’s key and reliable partners in Europe, with political dialogue, trade, economic, scientific, educational, cultural and humanitarian ties between the two nations developing consistently.

Sodiq Safoev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, elaborated on the outcomes of the reforms implemented under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev based on the core principle of “For human dignity”, as well as the growing international standing of Uzbekistan. He also emphasized the importance of intensifying inter-parliamentary cooperation, exchanging legislative experience and further developing parliamentary diplomacy.

Christian Görke, Chairman of the “Central Asia – Germany” Parliamentary Friendship Group, highlighted the expansion of cooperation in trade, investment, industrial cooperation, energy, vocational training, and the development of skilled personnel.

“Visit of the delegation of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan has once again demonstrated how important and effective direct dialogue is for the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation. Personal meetings, exchange of views and experiences strengthen mutual trust and create new opportunities for cooperation. I am confident that the dialogue held will make a worthy contribution to the further deepening of inter-parliamentary interaction and elevate bilateral relations to a new level”, parliamentarian stated.

Dilorom Fayzieva, Deputy Chairwoman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defence and Security of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, noted that the strategic partnership between the two countries encompasses political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. According to her, the interaction between parliaments contributes to strengthening the legal framework of bilateral relations, exchanging legislative experience, and improving parliamentary oversight.

“In recent years, cooperation between Germany and Uzbekistan has been developing at the level of a strategic partnership. This testifies to the high level of interaction in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian fields. At the same time, the potential for further development of cooperation remains significant”, she noted.

A cultural program showcasing the rich heritage and national art of Uzbekistan was organized as part of the event. During the official reception, participants also exchanged views on the prospects for expanding inter-parliamentary, cultural, and humanitarian ties.

Special attention was paid to compatriots working, studying and conducting scientific research in Germany, highlighting their achievements and future plans.
