Death Toll in Gaza Surpasses 73 Thousand

TASHKENT, June 29. /Dunyo IA/. At least 73,054 Palestinians have been killed and 173,480 injured in Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing the TV channel “Al Jazeera”.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, more than 1,040 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire agreement came into effect despite the truce. The ministry added that thousands of bodies are still believed to be trapped beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings across the enclave.

Over the past 24 hours, hospitals received the bodies of three people, while 43 others were treated for injuries. Israeli strikes over the weekend killed at least four Palestinians, including a 13-year-old girl. Several other people were wounded and taken to hospital.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said it had helped transfer 14 Palestinians released from Israeli detention through the Kerem Shalom crossing to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza and assisted in reuniting them with their families. The organization noted that it has facilitated the transfer of more than 2,500 released detainees since 2023. However, the ICRC said Israel continues to deny it access to other Palestinian detainees.

According to Al Jazeera’s correspondent, Israel continues to carry out intensive airstrikes, primarily targeting tent camps in an area of Gaza City that had previously been designated as a safe zone under the ceasefire agreement. At the same time, Israeli forces are expanding their ground operation in the eastern parts of Gaza.
