NEW YORK, September 24. /Dunyo IA/.  On September 22^nd, 2026, a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Vanuatu was signed in the city of New York, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

On behalf of the governments of the two countries, document was signed by the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the UN Ulugbek Lapasov and the Head of the Mission of Vanuatu to the UN, Odo Tevi.

During the meeting, the sides emphasized the importance of strengthening close cooperation between the countries within the framework of international organizations, including the United Nations and its specialized agencies.

Signing of this document marked another step toward expanding Uzbekistan's diplomatic engagement with the nations of the Pacific region.

It is worth recalling that on April 22^nd, 2026, a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Guinea-Bissau was signed at the Permanent Mission of our country to the UN in New York.
