TASHKENT, September 17. /Dunyo IA/.  Veteran of Uzbek diplomacy Alisher Akhundjanov was awarded the Japanese Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Certificate and the order – the oldest state award of Japan – were solemnly presented by Ambassador Kenji Hirata.

According to the Embassy of Japan, the former Head of the Department for Cooperation with the Countries of the Asia-Pacific Region of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who took an active part in opening our country's diplomatic mission in Tokyo as the first Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan, Alisher Akhundjanov was honoured with the award for outstanding merit in strengthening relations and developing friendly ties between the two countries.
