Pakistani company considers possibility of establishing a modern textile enterprise in Nukus

LAHORE, July 8. /Dunyo IA/.  Within the framework of the Uzbek delegation's visit to the Punjab province, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan Farkhod Ermanov and Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev, held talks with the management of “Indus Group”, one of Pakistan's leading textile companies, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the Pakistani side was presented with information regarding the investment potential of Karakalpakstan, existing incentives for foreign investors and opportunities for implementing joint projects.

The parties focused their main attention on the prospects of establishing a modern textile enterprise on the territory of the technopark under construction in the city of Nukus, based on a public-private partnership. The necessary plot of land could be allocated for the implementation of the project.

Management of “Indus Group” expressed readiness to study the initiative in detail and also showed interest in developing cooperation in the field of information technologies and the creation of data centers (Data Centers).

Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached to organize a business mission of the “Indus Group” delegation to Karakalpakstan this year to familiarize themselves with the region's investment potential and conduct substantive negotiations on promising investment projects.

Reached agreements are expected to contribute to the further development of Uzbek-Pakistani investment cooperation, as well as the implementation of new joint projects in the textile industry, information technologies and digital infrastructure.
