TASHKENT, October 15. /Dunyo IA/.  A meeting was held at the Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement of Uzbekistan with representatives of the international group of companies Ultradecor Global to discuss prospects for investment cooperation, localization of production and the expansion of industrial cooperation, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the agency, Ultradecor Global operates across 23 countries worldwide and employs 5,500 people. The group's corporate structure comprises seven wood-based panel manufacturing enterprises, 17 distribution centers and three specialized facilities focused on rubber and paper production.

In Uzbekistan, company intends to expand the operations of its six existing distribution centers. Furthermore, it is currently developing a project to establish a manufacturing enterprise in the Tashkent region for the production of laminated boards, with a projected capacity of 50,000 cubic meters per year.

Implementation of this project is expected to supply local furniture manufacturers with essential raw materials, expand the output of import-substituting products and strengthen domestic industrial cooperation linkages within the sector.

Additionally, the company is considering the possibility of establishing an information technology and corporate services center in Uzbekistan. It is anticipated that its operations will create approximately 100 new jobs, with around 90 percent of the provided services being exported to the group's foreign enterprises.

During the negotiations, the leadership of the Agency invited the company representatives to leverage the opportunities for participating in public procurement as stipulated by national legislation. In particular, possibility of obtaining a certificate of origin for domestic goods through JSC “Uzbekexpertiza” in accordance with the established procedure for products manufactured in Uzbekistan was highlighted.

Agency also expressed its readiness to provide practical assistance within its mandate to support the development of Ultradecor Global’s activities in the country, localization of production and establishment of new industrial cooperation links.

Special attention was paid to the opportunities for the company's participation in the industrial bonded zones being established in Uzbekistan and the implementation of new manufacturing projects on their territory.

Furthermore, the parties discussed matters concerning the organization of the activities of the Casa Foundation, which is associated with the Ultradecor group of companies, in Uzbekistan, and provided the relevant clarifications.

Following the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation with the aim of developing domestic production, expanding industrial cooperation and implementing promising investment projects.
