Czech companies express readiness to participate in the modernization of Uzbekistan’s transport infrastructure

TASHKENT, May 17. /Dunyo IA/. Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Munira Aminova held a meeting with Ambassador of Czech Republic Lubomir Frebort, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the MFA, during the meeting, the sides emphasized the importance of opening Uzbekistan’s embassy in Prague, which will be a significant step in expanding political, economic and cultural exchange between the two countries. Prospects for increasing Czech investments in various sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy, including pharmaceuticals, engineering, agriculture and transport were discussed.
Special attention was paid to the development of bilateral economic relations, in particular, Czech companies expressed readiness to participate in the modernization of Uzbekistan’s transport infrastructure, including projects to improve the Tashkent metro and develop tram lines in Urgench.
The Ambassador also expressed interest in developing the tourism industry, noting the existence of a direct flight between Tashkent and Karlovy Vary, which operates once a week. This opens new opportunities for Uzbek citizens wishing to visit the Czech Republic and contributes to strengthening cultural and economic ties between the countries.
The parties expressed their intention to continue active co-operation in various areas of interaction.
