Uzbekistan and the Philippines discuss prospects for launching direct air service

TASHKENT, August 15. /Dunyo IA/. The Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Mirvokhid Azimov met yesterday with the Ambassador of the Philippines (with residence in Tehran) Roberto Manalo, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the MFA, during the conversation, the state and prospects of Uzbek-Philippine cooperation, strengthening political dialogue, as well as expanding trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties were discussed. The Philippine side confirmed its interest in the consistent development of mutually beneficial relations with Uzbekistan.

The sides noted significant potential for trade, economic and investment cooperation, primarily in agriculture, the chemical and food industries, and tourism. Issues related to establishing direct ties between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries were discussed. The possibilities of developing tourism exchanges and transport connectivity were considered. In particular, the prospects for launching direct air connectivity between Uzbekistan and the Philippines and organizing reciprocal familiarization visits for representatives of the tourism sector were discussed.

At the end of the meeting, the sides confirmed their mutual readiness to continue joint efforts aimed at further developing Uzbek-Philippine relations and implementing specific mutually beneficial projects.
