Priorities for Uzbekistan-COMSTECH scientific and technological cooperation for 2025 discussed in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, January 3. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev met with the Coordinator General of the OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) Iqbal Choudhary in Islamabad, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation in science and technology, implementing mutually beneficial projects, and launching joint initiatives.
The Coordinator General of COMSTECH commended Uzbekistan’s significant achievements in advancing science, innovation, and their practical applications across national economic sectors. He attributed these accomplishments to the reforms spearheaded by Uzbekistan’s leadership in education and innovative development.
"It is widely acknowledged that Uzbekistan, as the birthplace of great thinkers, encyclopedists, and scientists, has made a remarkable contribution to global science and Islamic civilization. Uzbekistan’s high scientific potential, particularly its universities, deserves recognition by the global academic community. COMSTECH serves as a unique platform for collaboration with scientific communities across 57 countries," said Iqbal Choudhary.
Planned activities for 2025 include a delegation visit to Uzbekistan led by Iqbal Choudhary, discussions on cooperation in science and higher education, and the development of a medium- and long-term joint action plan.
Additionally, it was agreed to organize international events celebrating the contributions of Uzbekistan’s great scholars to global science, promote their scientific heritage, host international competitions and Olympiads in astronomy, geography, and physics, and design grant programs for students and researchers.
