Uzbekistan accredits its Ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus for the first time in history

NICOSIA, December 19. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan with residence in Rome, Abat Fayzullayev, has presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The Cypriot leader addressed the ceremony for receiving credentials from foreign ambassadors, warmly welcoming the diplomats, wishing them success in fulfilling their missions, and expressing hope that they will contribute significantly to the development of bilateral and multilateral relations.
In his remarks, Nikos Christodoulides highlighted the prospects for relations with Uzbekistan, emphasizing that the Republic of Cyprus places considerable importance on these ties, including within the framework of the European Union.
Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Cyprus were established on May 30, 1997. Abat Fayzullayev become the first Ambassador of Uzbekistan accredited to the Republic of Cyprus. He was appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Italy in October 2023.
