– I am delighted by the election of academician Akmal Saidov to the UN Human Rights Committee. Having known him for eight years, since our collaboration in the Independent Permanent Commission on Human Rights of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, I can attest to his prominence in the field of human rights globally.
Akmal Saidov’s leadership as a member and head of the Independent Permanent Commission on Human Rights of the OIC reflects his profound understanding of human rights issues and extensive engagement with international organizations. Our close collaboration with him in advancing human rights objectives and participation in international organization sessions has been invaluable.
On behalf of the Oman Human Rights Commission, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Uzbekistan’s nominee on his appointment to this esteemed committee and wish him success in his endeavours.
