View from Tehran: Uzbekistan infuses new momentum into integration processes within OTS

TEHRAN, October 31. /Dunyo IA/. Assistant Director of the Economic Cooperation Organization Cultural Institute (ECOCI) Ahmet Akalın commented for Dunyo IA on the participation of the President of Uzbekistan in the 13th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Ankara:

- Uzbekistan is becoming one of the key participants in the transformation of the Organization of Turkic States, strengthening its position as an initiator of integration processes. Active role of Tashkent contributes to the expansion of cooperation between the countries not only in political and economic, but also in cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Transition from traditional trade to the establishment of joint manufacturing enterprises and regional value-added chains is acquiring particular importance. This will enable the OTS member states to develop industrial cooperation and shift from exporting raw materials to manufacturing finished products.

Development of digital platforms for trade, customs clearance, and logistics organization also represents a promising direction. An important role is played by strengthening transport connectivity and harmonizing policies in the field of international transit corridors.

I am convinced that the further advancement of Uzbekistan's initiatives will inject a new momentum into the integration processes within the OTS, strengthen economic ties between the states and contribute to ensuring peace and stability in the region.
