Embassy of Uzbekistan hosts meeting with Japanese National Chemistry Team ahead of Tashkent International Olympiad

TOKYO, July 13. /Dunyo IA/.  A meeting was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan with members of the Japanese national team, their mentors, and chaperones who will participate in the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO), being hosted in our country from July 11th to 18th, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, guests were briefed on the educational reforms underway in Uzbekistan, state support measures for youth, the development of science and innovation and achievements in expanding international academic cooperation.

It was noted that hosting the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad in Uzbekistan for the first time in history stands as another practical outcome of the ongoing reforms within the national educational system and the advancement of international cooperation. Within the framework of the Olympiad, the country is expected to welcome more than 700 talented school students from nearly 100 nations worldwide.

Meeting participants were presented with a presentation dedicated to Uzbekistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage, the tourism potential of the ancient cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrisabz and Termez, alongside the ongoing efforts to advance the nation's tourism sector. Furthermore, the guests were shown promotional videos highlighting Uzbekistan’s modern tourism infrastructure and the traditions of Uzbek hospitality.

Within the framework of the meeting, an interactive quiz titled “Do You Know Uzbekistan?” was organized. During the quiz, the Japanese students actively answered questions focused on the history, culture, geography, and national traditions of our country, gaining an excellent opportunity to expand their knowledge about Uzbekistan.

Guests were also briefed on the program of the International Chemistry Olympiad in Uzbekistan, the conditions created for the participants, and the cultural program prepared for the guests of the competition.

Following the meeting, parties discussed the prospects for expanding cooperation between the two countries in school education, launching student exchange programs between general education institutions, organizing mutual visits of subject Olympiad winners and talented schoolchildren and possibility of conducting introductory and graduation trips to Uzbekistan for Japanese students.

At the end of the event, the participants expressed confidence that the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad in Uzbekistan would be a great success and emphasized that they look forward to their upcoming visit to our country with great interest and anticipation.
