Hungarian National Museum expresses readiness to expand cooperation with Uzbekistan

BUDAPEST, June 18. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Oybek Shakhavdinov met with Dr. Zsigmond Gabor, Executive Director of the Hungarian National Museum, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of culture and museology. The Hungarian side was provided with information about the activities of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, and potential areas of collaboration in archaeology, restoration, and academic research were explored.
Special attention was given to the exchange of information on historical and cultural artifacts, the organization of joint exhibitions, and the establishment of professional dialogue between the museums of both countries
The Hungarian side expressed its readiness to expand bilateral ties, including through consultations with museums in Uzbekistan.
Dr. Zsigmond Gábor expressed interest in establishing long-term cooperation with the Center of Islamic Civilization and noted the possibility of participating in the opening ceremony of the planned international exhibition "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan — Heritage of All Humanity".
Both parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further developing cultural exchange and strengthening partnerships between relevant institutions in Uzbekistan and Hungary.
