“Kyiv Diplomatic”: Tourism becomes a key driver of Uzbekistan’s Services Exports

KYIV, September 14. /Dunyo IA/. An article dedicated to the dynamic development of Uzbekistan’s services and tourism sectors has been published in the well-known Ukrainian magazine “Kyiv Diplomatic”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Publication notes that in January–July 2026, Uzbekistan’s services exports reached $7.3 billion, increasing by 35.3 percent compared with the same period in 2025. Services accounted for 36.8 percent of the country’s total exports. Travel and tourism services held the leading position in the structure of services exports, accounting for 53.8 percent. Transport services accounted for 31.7 percent, telecommunications, computer and information services for 8.5 percent and other business services for 2.9 percent.
Publication emphasizes that the dominance of tourism in services exports demonstrates the sector’s growing role in the national economy. This growth is being driven by an increase in the flow of foreign tourists, the creation of new tourism products, and the development of modern infrastructure. The article concludes that these strong indicators are the result of comprehensive reforms aimed at enhancing Uzbekistan’s competitiveness in the international tourism market.
