President Shavkat Mirziyoyev: Rich experience of Seoul in modernization and innovation is of particular importance to building New Uzbekistan

TASHKENT, September 14. /Dunyo IA/.   On the occasion of the state visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Korea, an article by the head of state, entitled “Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea: A Future-Oriented Partnership in an Era of Change”, has been published in the country’s leading media outlets – “The Chosun Daily”, English-language platform “Chosun Ilbo” and “The Korea Herald”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

“Article highlights the historical foundations of Uzbek-Korean friendship and the prospects for a special strategic partnership distinguished by its scale and high level of trust, Sherzod Asadov, Press Secretary to the President of Uzbekistan, wrote on his telegram channel. - Our countries are described not only as time-tested partners, but also as close friends, bound by shared values and strong people-to-people ties”.

Article also highlights the impressive development path of the Republic of Korea, which in a single generation has become a prosperous high-tech power. Seoul’s rich experience in modernization and innovation is of particular importance for building New Uzbekistan.

In recent years, bilateral trade has increased fivefold, while Korean investments have exceeded $8 billion. There are more than 700 joint enterprises and projects, while the portfolio of programs with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Export-Import Bank of Korea and Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) exceeds $3.5 billion. 

A new stage of cooperation is associated with artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, robotics, electric vehicles, biopharmaceuticals, smart agriculture and smart cities.

“We can open a new chapter in our partnership – moving from successful cooperation in individual sectors to the creation of shared production systems, technology platforms, and new markets”, - President of our country emphasized.

Particular attention is given to the first “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” Summit, which will be held in Seoul on September 16th.

President of our country noted that at the summit, Uzbekistan intends to put forward a number of timely initiatives aimed at deepening political dialogue, expanding practical cooperation and establishing new effective mechanisms of cooperation.

These proposals are intended to bring the “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” format to a qualitatively new level, making it more systematic, dynamic, and focused on long-term regional priorities.

“I sincerely believe that Central Asia and the Republic of Korea can create a new space for cooperation – one of peace, innovation, mutual trust and shared prosperity”, - the article says.
