BERLIN, April 13. /Dunyo IA/. The leading German online travel publication “Reiseblick” has published an analytical article titled “The Only One in the World”, dedicated to the activities of the Center of Islamic Civilization (CIC) in Tashkent, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The publication notes that the grand opening of this complex took place on March 17, 2026. The Center is intended to become not only a repository of ancient knowledge but also an international platform for the development of education, interreligious dialogue and the fight against extremism through enlightenment.
The author of the article, journalist Fred Hafner, describes the architecture of the Center of Islamic Civilization as a harmonious blend of national traditions and modern engineering solutions. The massive complex, covering 50,000 square meters and situated on 10 hectares of land, recreates the atmosphere of Oriental architecture. Over the past year, the museum's collection has been actively expanding: more than 1,500 new exhibits have been gathered, including rare manuscripts and archaeological finds, while 743 authentic artefacts were returned to the country through cooperation with foreign collectors.
The author expresses particular admiration for the Quran Hall, spiritual heart of the complex, which houses one of the six oldest manuscripts in the world - Uthman Quran. The hall's grandeur is accentuated by a 50-tons “Swarovski” chandelier and natural marble mosaics. The journalist also highlights the symbolism of the architectural details, noting that one of the building's 34-meter portals is an exact replica of the Mirzo Ulugbek Madrasah portal from Registan Square.
The publication reminds that the idea of establishing the center was first voiced by the President of Uzbekistan at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly and received recognition throughout the Islamic world.
In the conclusion of the article, Fred Hafner provides impressive data on the growth of the republic's tourism appeal. It is noted that by the end of 2025, Uzbekistan welcomed approximately 12 million foreign guests, which is 16% more than the previous year's figures, while the volume of tourism service exports reached USD 4.8 billion.
According to the German expert, the emergence of such sites as the Center of Islamic Civilization makes Uzbekistan one of the most promising and sought-after destinations on the global tourism map.
