Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents copy of credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria

DAMASCUS, September 7. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Syria, with residence in Kuwait City, Ayubkhon Yunusov, presented copies of his credentials to Syrian Foreign Minister Assad al-Shaibani, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meeting, the Syrian side stressed that it attaches great importance to the development of relations with the countries of Central Asia, in particular with Uzbekistan. The intensification of mutually beneficial ties between the two countries in recent times was noted, and interest was expressed in strengthening political dialogue and expanding trade and economic cooperation.
Parties exchanged views on the priority areas of bilateral relations. Specifically, they discussed the establishment of the Uzbek-Syrian Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation, the formation of a political consultation mechanism between the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries, as well as the implementation of other joint activities.
Assad al-Shaibani emphasized the importance of the consistent development of cooperation with Uzbekistan across all areas of mutual interest. In this regard, it was noted that the Syrian side highly appreciates the assistance and support extended by Uzbekistan in previous years.
Syrian side declared its readiness to further revitalize relations between the two countries, underscoring its willingness to review and facilitate the implementation of proposals and initiatives put forward by the Uzbek side across various areas of cooperation.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to the continued development of Uzbek-Syrian relations in such dimensions as political dialogue, mutual visits at high and highest levels, trade and economic cooperation, as well as other spheres of mutual interest.
