The new ambassador of Uzbekistan arrived in Oman

MUSCAT, 4 February. /"Dunyo" IA/. Today, Abdusalom Khatamov, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan, arrived in the capital of Oman.

From 2018 to 2024, he served as the Consul General of Uzbekistan in the city of Yekaterinburg (Russia). A seasoned diplomat, 52-year-old Abdusalom Khatamov is a graduate of the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies.
His career began in 1993 at state enterprises in the Bukhara region, where he also taught Arabic at Bukhara State University. Since 1999, he has been an integral part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serving in various positions in the Bukhara branch, the Consular Department, the Consular and Legal Department, and diplomatic missions in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Speaks Arabic, Russian and English.
Abdusalom Khatamov succeeded Anvar Abdukhalimov, who served as the head of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Oman from 2018 to 2021.
