New Ambassador of Uzbekistan arrives in Seoul

SEOUL, August 29. /Dunyo IA/. The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Alisher Abdusalomov arrived in the capital of the Republic of Korea this morning, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Before his appointment to Seoul, he served as the head of the Secretariat of the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.
He is 40 years old and was educated at Westminster International University in Tashkent and Kyung Hee University in South Korea.
Starting his professional career at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan (now the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade), Alisher Abdusalomov advanced from a leading specialist to the head of the Main Directorate. The diplomatic service has been a significant part of his career: from 2013 to 2016, he served as an adviser on trade and economic issues at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan, and from 2018 to 2024, he held a similar position in South Korea.
Alisher Abdusalomov succeeded Vitaly Fen, who led the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul from 1995 to 2024, with a brief hiatus.
The new Ambassador intends to continue working to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea, focusing on economic, cultural, and diplomatic aspects of their interaction.
