STYRIA, November 2. /Dunyo IA/. A photo presentation and lecture dedicated to a journey through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was held in the Austrian state of Styria, reports a Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event took place at Rein Abbey. Austrian traveller Dieter Radner introduced the audience to the natural, historical, and cultural diversity of Central Asia.
The event was covered by regional Austrian media outlets MeinBezirk.at and Gratwein-Strassengel.gv.at in an article titled “Von Kasachstan nach Usbekistan” (“From Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan”).
The publications highlight the historical role of Central Asia in fostering trade, cultural, and scientific ties between East and West. For centuries, the region’s cities served as important stops along the Great Silk Road, facilitating the exchange of goods, knowledge, religious traditions, and cultural achievements.
During his journey, Dieter Radner visited Almaty and Turkistan in Kazakhstan before continuing to Uzbekistan. His itinerary included Tashkent, Bukhara, and Samarkand – cities renowned for their rich historical and architectural heritage.
The traveller paid particular attention to the cultural character of Uzbek cities. According to him, Tashkent combines modern urban infrastructure with historical heritage, while Bukhara and Samarkand are renowned for their architectural ensembles, madrasahs, mosques, and monuments reflecting centuries of development in science, education, crafts, and international trade.
It is also noted that the article was published on MeinBezirk.at, a platform belonging to the RegionalMedien Austria media group. The outlet brings together a network of regional weekly newspapers and a digital news platform with an audience of approximately three million people.
Events of this kind help raise European audiences’ interest in Uzbekistan’s historical heritage and strengthen cultural ties with Central Asian countries.
